After discussing it on and off for a few years now, we’ve decided it’s time to finally plan the next phase and adventure in our life together. In this case, that next phase is building our own home. Now it was time to do some different research. This time on builders in our area. Everyone might have their own way for finding a builder to work with, but here’s what we did.
I knew of a couple builders in our area already and we also visited the Parade of Homes to find the other builders. Something we did though was visit the Parade of Homes just after it closed…same models (well, like 95% at least), but no cover charge! I then put them all into a spreadsheet so I could list the standard inclusions that each builder had and other details about them in an easy to look at form. We also worked on coming up with a list of questions we’d want to ask each of the builders. Our initial list is four local builders. Belman Homes, Victory Homes, Bielinski, and Tim O’Brien Homes.
