Everybody Was Cabinet Picking

While there is still some time before things get really busy, we’re making some visits to Drexel who handles most of the materials and selections and building supply side of things. We love how the builder likes to help you have your selections and what not done as far ahead of time as possible. It allows things to go much smoother, accounts for any possible delays or backlogs, and also lets you have a change along the way if need be with out actually affecting anything on the time line.

STYLE
We headed off to Drexel for our first meeting which was strictly about cabinets and counter tops (counters will get their own post). Going into the meeting we had a decent idea of what we wanted as far as style, but we knew one of our biggest challenges was going to be color. The cabinets are Marsh cabinets. We are going to do a simple Savannah style in maple. Some of the cabinets will have a solid front for the drawers, and some will have a 5 piece drawer front.

COLORS
For the colors on them, we’re thinking of “drift” for the laundry room and powder room, and then either “espresso” or “clove” for the rest of them. We liked the idea of doing a different color for the laundry and powder room, but then keeping consistent for the rest of the house. We’re debating a bit on the hardware. We’re currently leaning towards either black, or an oil rubbed bronze/black combo.
