With Great Cabinets Comes Great Counters

Or something like that at least….

Now that we had narrowed down ideas for our cabinet colors, we started to look at countertops. Going into the meeting, we knew one thing for sure. The kitchen counters were going to be a Cambria. We’ve always thought they had really cool designs and patterns. Since everyone spends so much time in the kitchen and since it’s open to the living room, we decided to use that as a place to have a little fun. The rest of the bathroom countertops will just be a more standard quartz. We knew we wanted quartz because it’s easy to clean and things like that, but doesn’t have the upkeep and maintenance that comes with marble or granite. The laundry room will just be laminate…because…well…it’s a laundry room. Who cares about in there? We don’t.

Drexel had a large display of things to chose from. I bet at one point, we had close to 6 or 7 Cambria samples pulled and sitting next to our cabinet colors. It turns out that In have a much better idea of what I don’t like and why then I thought I did. After some back and forth…and bartering, we have a winner for the kitchen. The good news is that it goes with either of our leading kitchen cabinet colors, so no matter which we go with, we’ll be happy with it. And the winner is…..Inverness Cobalt.

For the rest of the quartz counter tops, we went through the “standard” quartz collection of counters that are included in our quote. They had quite a few good ones to chose from. We carried our samples around the show room as they had some of them in full size as part of their sample cabinet and kitchen setups. It didn’t take us nearly as long to narrow down this one to one we liked, which also works with all of our colors. And the winner is….Etude.

And it’s made by LG…who knew they could make my dryer and my countertop too? I mean, technically it’s a subsidiary, but still, it’s LG.
